Presentation
We came across this lovely little hotel quite by chance. It is pretty much in St Bonnet up on the hill with a view from the front of the hotel across the valley to the mountains. We sat out on the terrace drinking tea (served with cold milk) watching the children play on the lawn and the sun disappear behind the mountains. The view is the same from the restaurant with panoramic windows on two sides. Albert and Patricia are from the north of France and are very welcoming. They obviously take as much pleasure in helping visitors discover the local culinary delights as they do in learning about visitors own specialities. Albert even has a jar of Marmite for English or Australian visitors who are in need. I can recommend the local beer, the local lamb, and a sort of fried pastry pillow stuffed with potatoes, spinach etc.. Good local cheese and wines go without saying, of course. Albert and Patricia seemed to know everybody personally and we found ourselves in conversation with them and some of the other guests over a cognac or a calvados after the evening meal.
